2D to 3D!

After creating the collages, I decided to make them 3D by using the wire process. I chose my 3 favorites and sculpt them in wire.

* I liked this one...the last one failed...

Here's view from different side:

Collage to creating spaces/things

After chopping them up, I decided to continue with the process of Obstruction 4 and create spaces with them.

Obstruction 5 - Collage?

I decided to continue with the collage process. I felt it's a great start to get a new idea going. No program yet, I'm relying on the collage to shape and tell me what it wants to be.

Final Obstruction 4

Here's the final plans, sections, elevations and perspectives I came up with. The program I choose is a beach house. The theme is framing a view. Main focus is the infinity pool.

Each space serves a different view:
1. Entrance: The swimming pool and sunset
2. Living/Dinning/Kitchen: Framing the beach and sunset
3. Hall way: Infinity pool and window to the outdoor
4. Guest bedroom: The beach and greenery
5. Master bedroom: The beach and sunset

Plans

Top - Front Elevation
Middle - Sections: showing the different elevation of the swimming pool and the 2 bedrooms
Bottom - Sections: showing the different heights from the bedroom and the living room (3 story high)

Perspective 1 - Living space from staircase

Top Perspective 2 - Glass Bridge of the infinity pool
Bottom Perspective 3 - Hall way into the extended infinity pool and the sky lights

Process to the Final

These are some of the process I went through before arriving to the final. My process was start shaping the perspectives and then connecting them together with corridors. I drew them in plans, sections, elevations and axon to see how the exterior is going to look like.

Today's Process Work

I was thinking of sequences of entering into multiple thresholds. I used the entrance as my point of perspective and created the spaces with the collage.

This was an interesting twist to the pin up on Friday. I never thought of it this way. Thanks Jasmine!
